ANIMAL, the all-inclusive queer bar located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, has launched ANIMAL PRINT, a community-based zine dedicated to amplifying queer voices through art, culture, activism and more.
ANIMAL PRINT is not just a zine—it is a modern canvas for the meeting of queer minds, offering a space for critique, conversation, and collaboration. Building on the spirit of queer publications of the past, it demonstrates a wide range of LGBTQ+ excellence while drawing inspiration from New York’s rich queer history. Contributors include notable figures such as Stanley Stellar, Paul Sepuya, Michael Cunningham, Sam Sax, Ora Wise, Linda Simpson, and more.
Much like ANIMAL, the bar, ANIMAL PRINT reflects the energy, diversity, and vibrancy of New York’s queer community. It offers a venue for both reflection and celebration, honoring those who paved the way while providing fresh, contemporary perspectives on the modern queer experience.
The founders of ANIMAL—Jim Morrison Hevert, Ashton Correa, and Nick Eskelinen—envision ANIMAL PRINT as a tribute to the intersectionality and creativity that thrives within queer spaces. “It’s more than a bar or a zine—it’s a love letter to our community,” said co-owner Ashton Correa.
As ANIMAL continues to make waves with its elevated cocktail offerings and inclusive space, ANIMAL PRINT will bring that same level of authenticity to its pages.
ANIMAL PRINT is available for free in print at ANIMAL. ANIMAL PRINT is edited and designed by Vacation. Stay tuned for upcoming issues featuring collaborations with well-known queer artists, writers, and activists.
