- Aspen Gay Ski Week, Colorado, US
Fifty years of rainbow-filled winters have made Aspen the granddaddy of gay ski weeks. Its Golden Jubilee runs January 17–24, 2027, with ski ambassadors helping travelers meet up and explore Aspen Snowmass by day before everyone reconvenes for après-ski, the drinks, music and socializing that happen after the lifts close. The Limelight Aspen hosts free daily après sessions and heated pool and hot-tub gatherings, while Friday brings the wonderfully ridiculous Downhill Costume Contest and a dance party nearly 11,000 feet up Aspen Mountain. If you’re a beginner, look beyond Aspen Mountain itself, which doesn’t have beginner green runs, and try gentler Buttermilk instead.

Imagine skiing through the Swiss Alps and realizing that hundreds of the people sharing the mountain are there for the same gay winter takeover. Arosa Gay Ski Week returns January 16–23, 2027, drawing more than 800 guests for social skiing, sunny mountain lunches and plenty of après-ski, followed by cabaret, concerts, pool parties and late-night dancing. Better still, you don’t need to be an expert: the Arosa-Lenzerheide ski area offers 225 kilometers of pistes for different abilities, alongside freeride terrain and snow parks. Packages make planning unusually painless, with options bundling your hotel, breakfast, event pass and ski pass into one booking.

You won’t have to wonder which group to join on Whistler’s enormous mountains. Running January 24–31, 2027, Whistler Pride & Ski Festival combines skiing and snowboarding with a weeklong Pride celebration in one of Canada’s best-known mountain resorts. The festival has been bringing LGBTQ+ travelers together since 1992 and attracts a predominantly gay-male crowd alongside women and other members of the community. Previous editions have become known for events such as the Rainbow Ski-Out, when skiers descend the mountain together in colorful formation, alongside pool parties and major dance nights. Stay around Whistler Village if you want the easiest combination of gondola access, restaurants and nightlife, and watch the official program as the detailed 2027 schedule is released.
- Elevation Mammoth Gay Ski Week, California, US
If your perfect ski vacation involves as much flirting as carving, Mammoth may have your name written all over it. Elevation Mammoth celebrates its 25th anniversary from March 17–21, 2027, bringing around 2,500 attendees to Mammoth Lakes for what organizers sum up as “2,500 riders, 12 major parties, 0 attitude.” Skiing is only half the story: this is a heavily social, predominantly gay-male gathering where days on the mountain spill into packed après sessions and themed parties. You don’t have to ski like an Olympian either: the organizers explicitly welcome everyone from serious riders to people happier sticking to the bunny slopes, the gentle terrain reserved for beginners.
- European Gay Ski Week, Val Thorens, France
Six hundred kilometers of interconnected ski runs by day; DJs, shows and a thousand-plus new friends by night. That’s the scale of European Gay Ski Week, returning to Val Thorens from March 13–20, 2027. The resort sits within Les 3 Vallées, a huge network of linked French ski resorts that lets you travel between valleys without taking off your skis, and the festival attracts guests from almost 50 countries. Expect days filled with skiing and mountain meetups before the focus shifts to après-ski, live entertainment and late-night parties. Val Thorens is also largely ski-in/ski-out, meaning many accommodations let you reach the slopes without relying on a car or daily transfer.
- European Snow Pride, Tignes, France
Bring your skis, and definitely pack your swimsuit. European Snow Pride takes over Tignes from March 20–27, 2027, pairing skiing across the Tignes–Val d’Isère area with daily parties and a famously social atmosphere. One of its biggest draws is the giant pool party in Tignes le Lac, while organized ski groups make it easier to find people of a similar ability rather than tackling the mountain alone. There is an important booking detail, though: the pool party and hosted ski groups aren’t automatically included with the Standard Event Pass; you’ll need a Premium Pass or the relevant add-on. Lift and Event Pass combinations are also available, so check exactly what you’re buying before arriving.
- Winter Pride Sölden, Austria
How often do you get to follow a drag queen down an Austrian mountain? At Winter Pride Sölden, you actually can. From March 13–20, 2027, host drag queen Sindy Sinful joins one of the guided ski groups exploring Sölden, while the wider program mixes mountain lunches and après-ski with karaoke, parties and special excursions. For something considerably more glamorous than grabbing fries at a ski lodge, book the three-course luxury lunch at ICE Q, the futuristic restaurant more than 3,000 meters above sea level that appeared in the James Bond movie Spectre. Standard Event Passes cover the corresponding core program, while premium experiences such as the ICE Q lunch cost extra.
- Gay Ski Week Hakuba, Japan
Skiing in Japan is already bucket-list territory; doing it with a gay group, karaoke nights and a hot-spring soak makes Hakuba considerably more fun. Gay Ski Week Hakuba runs March 5–14, 2027 as the fully hosted way to experience the wider Hakuba Rainbow Festival, with accommodation deals, transportation between activities and guides helping guests navigate the region’s ski areas. The current schedule includes skiing at Happo, Iwatake, Norikura and Tsugaike, plus a pool party, karaoke and Candy Mountain. There are sightseeing days too, including a trip to see Japan’s famous snow monkeys and another to Matsumoto Castle. And when organizers mention onsen, they mean Japan’s traditional hot-spring baths, an experience worth making time for even if your legs need a day off the slopes.
- Jasper Pride and Ski Festival, Canada
Maybe you want Pride in the mountains without committing your entire vacation to skiing. Jasper delivers exactly that. Rather than functioning solely as a gay ski week, Jasper Pride & Ski Festival spreads the celebration across the Canadian Rockies town and nearby Marmot Basin with skiing, drag, parties and community events. The 2026 festival ran April 10–19 and included the Proud Peaks Flag Parade, where skiers carried a giant Pride flag down Marmot Basin, plus the Wonderland Pride Party Gala. That mix makes Jasper particularly appealing if you’re traveling with friends who aren’t all skiers. As of now, however, 2027 dates haven’t been announced, so don’t build a nonrefundable trip around assumed dates.

And then there’s the option that turns the entire ski calendar upside down. Queenstown’s winter arrives while Europe and North America are enjoying summer, making New Zealand a tempting choice for anyone not ready to put the skis away. Winter Pride began as Gay Ski Week in 2003 and grew into a broader LGBTQ+ winter festival combining mountain activities with parties and other experiences around Queenstown. Organizers cancelled the 2026 edition to regroup and have announced plans to return in 2027, with the festival website currently displaying September 3–12. Until tickets and a detailed 2027 program are released, however, treat those plans cautiously and avoid locking yourself into nonrefundable travel purely for the festival.
