Macri Park NYC gay bar review: Everything you need to know | Gay Bars near me

From ambiance to happy hour to events to location, here’s everything you need to know about Macri Park, the Brooklyn gay bar

The Highlights:

  • Gay Bar? Yes!
  • Location: 462 Union Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11211
  • Neighborhood: Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York
  • Hours: 3PM – 4AM Every Day
  • Best Time to Go: Happy Hour and Evenings
  • Vibe: Extremely Divey and Casual
  • Cover?: No
  • Website: https://www.macripark.com/
  • Instagram: @macripark

Overview:

Located on the main drag of Union Avenue in central Williamsburg, Macri Park is surprisingly easy to miss – despite its prime location. It’s a true watering hole: divey and doesn’t look like it’s been touched or updated in years (besides the surprisingly nicely-tiled main floor bathroom that appears in countless gays’ selfies).

Macri Park has lots of seating, including a fantastic long bench with stools along the main wall. There are countless televisions playing music videos and visuals.

There’s a backyard, but not one that you want to hang out in – it’s probably one of the few outdoor bar spaces in New York that aren’t flocked to – it’s concrete, and forgettable.

You should go to Macri Park if you don’t care about aesthetics, want a cheap and strong drink while catching up with friends, and don’t want to pay a cover at Metro, Macri Park’s sister bar.

Why go?

  • Strong, cheap drinks
  • Lots of seating
  • No cover

Ambiance:  Look up ‘dive bar’ in the dictionary, and there’s a picture of Macri Park.

Happy Hour: 3PM – 8PM, Every Day, with discounted house liquor and drinks, house wine, and house beer. Metro is best during happy hour.

Events (Subject to change – check out Macri Park’s Instagram account for the latest events information)

Macri Park has daily events – from Friday evening trivia to Drag Race viewings to consistently different drag shows, themed nights, and events. The best way to see what’s going on at Macri Park is to check out their Instagram before you go!
