3 Dollar Bill NYC gay club review: Everything you need to know | Gay Bars near me

From ambiance to events to location, here’s everything you need to know about 3 Dollar Bill, the popular Brooklyn gay club and event venue

The Highlights:

Overview:

First things first: 3 Dollar Bill is more of a gay club and event venue than a gay bar. Now with 3 distinct spaces (indoors, outdoors, and the recently acquired ‘9BN’ next door) – there can be three different parties (with three different tickets) going on at this space at the exact same time.

Therefore, 3 Dollar Bill is big, and fun, and has evolved into the queer Brooklyn Mirage. You go to 3 Dollar Bill with a purpose and a reason – it’s not a spot that you walk up to on a random night.

The ‘main space’ is an indoor dance floor with powerful (and very loud) speakers, the ‘first’ outdoor space is filled with picnic tables, the ‘second’ and large outdoor space can accommodate hundreds, and the newly-acquired ‘9 Bob Note’ hosts more intimate and smaller parties, even though it’s large itself.

You’ll find everything from major drag shows featuring RuPaul stars like Jimbo and Alaska, popular summer party Ty Tea on Sunday afternoons, and thematically-original dance parties most nights of the week, in addition to occasional circuit parties like MEAT and Harder. OTA is also hosted at 3 Dollar Bill every Monday – the famous ballroom weekly – that attracts locals, visitors, and celebrities like Madonna, Lil Nas X, and more.

3 Dollar Bill is one of New York City’s only ‘true gay clubs’.
