HOLD NYC – a favorite of So.Gay – premiered their latest collections at New York Fashion Week’s Men’s Day this February.
On the new collection, HOLD NYC Creative Director Holden Akerly shares: “This collection started as a reimagining of my high school ski trips as a sexy, utopian, fun ski-afters. Growing up, the trips would often feel heavy, lonely and cold. Looking at the nostalgic scene through a more optimistic lens, one more euphoric and thrilling, is something that I’ve loved to play with lately. Incorporating pieces of youth, like SSX Tricky or a Sony Walkman, into my inspiration allowed for a blurring of reality and fantasy that, ultimately, gave way to a collection that was technical, cool, and sexy.”
For Fall/Winter 2025, HOLD NYC invites us to an “après-ski fantasy,” where cool nostalgia meets alpine hedonism. Imagine carving through high-octane powder with N.E.R.D.’s Rock Star pulsing through a Sony Walkman—then comes the best part: shedding the gear and slipping into something effortlessly chic. Against a snow-washed backdrop, the collection blurs the lines between technical, cozy, and formal, capturing the essence of a chalet rendezvous where sport and seduction intertwine.
Classic snowboard silhouettes stay true to their technical roots but reappear with unexpected twists in denim, while heritage outerwear is reimagined in plush fleece. A bright yellow sleeveless sweater in muscle-merino is ideal for a sun-drenched moment on the slopes, while traditional alpine knits take on a sultry new edge. Embellished pieces—a beaded leather halter, a sheer mesh tank—inject après-glam into the mix. Formal tweed tailoring is disrupted by bungee cord adjustments, running shorts, and a full ski suit in mesmerizing multi-light metallic blue. The pièce de résistance? A voluminous powder-blue down robe, nonchalantly layered over a hockey-inspired jockstrap, epitomizing the fantasy of the afters.

The signature leather Jock Bag makes its return, cementing itself as the statement pouch of the season. And, of course, “ski” kit lanyards—HOLD NYC’s signature nod to après-ski indulgence—add just the right touch of irreverence.
