I had the opportunity to attend Hold NYC’s latest fashion week show and presentation this month at The Standard Meatpacking. I’ve rounded up my favorite looks from the show below.
I chatted with Holden Akerley, Creative Director and Managing partner of Hold NYC below about the inspiration behind his Spring Summer 2025 collection. He said: “Thinking back to my childhood, some of the warmest memories I have are of sunny, spring afternoons outside. Being surrounded by flowers, the dull hum of New Radicals playing from inside the house, and neighbors coming by to chat, is the kind of optimistic nostalgia I wanted to project.”
On this season’s outfits: “Breezy fits like an oversized marsh coat, an open knit viscose sweater, and articulated summer wool twill pants give easiness, cargo details on shirts and pants are a play on gardening details, and sheer ripstop capris, midriff skimming tops, and loose silk lounge pants add a bit of sexiness. We also play with technical silhouettes and details, in this case, a classic rainproof anorak is reimagined in sheer organza. In addition to our classic Jock Bag – this season done in leather and canvas – we are introducing the Pail Bag, a multi-use midsize leather bag with a mesh bottom and nylon gasket closure that is perfect for the beach or to bring home a bouquet without breaking any stems. We are always easy and cool with a bit of tongue in cheek references.”
