“A young farmer of 31 years, SAGAT, heads to a cemetery in the middle of the night. The next
morning, ROMAN, a 29-year-old guy, is found sitting in Sagat’s living room. It seems he has never been in that place before. Yet, something suggests otherwise. Who is he? What ties them together?
Why is he there, and for how long?”
Noel Alejandro, the Barcelona-Berlin-based independent filmmaker, celebrates the launch of
his first mid-length movie with a splendid Release-Party in New York City, following its successful premiere at the iconic Babylon Cinema in Berlin.
Remember I Am Dead could be described as “a warm-hearted Haneke-esque zombie movie, a
melodrama without music.” It is a story about loss and the resistance to letting go.
In this new dark-reverie film audiences will encounter something entirely novel within the realm of
artistic adult cinema: a transition from arty eroticism to a more intricate narrative, shattering the
confines of conventional cinema. However, an exclusive director’s cut featuring explicit scenes will be
accessible only on Noel Alejandro’s new website starting November 22.
In this 39 minute movie, we witness the quite literal unearthing of a past relationship. Sagat (Pierre
Emö) lives on a farm, away from the bustle of the city. But this apparently peaceful lifestyle doesn’t
always come with the expected peace of mind: the echoes from the past can be louder when
everything else is quiet around us. That might be the reason that spurs Sagat into bringing Roman
(Brandon Jones) back to (his) life, only to realize that digging up the past is a risky business.
Noel Alejandro is an independent filmmaker and a director of alternative adult films whose work
explores gay pornography as a tool to question society’s traditional standards. With 24 short films
already under his belt, this is Noel’s first venture into the mid-length format. Remember I Am Dead
is an intimate approach to the meaning of loss and grief. Another step into Noel’s dark-twisted
aesthetic vision of gay erotica that will definitely leave a warm afterglow in the viewer’s memory.
The release party for Remember I Am Dead will take place on November 22 at The House, a new
bar venue in Brooklyn, NY. After the film’s show-stopping premiere at the iconic Babylon Cinema in
Berlin last May, this will be Noel Alejandro’s first public viewing event in NYC. It promises to be a night to remember.
The release party will start with a Cocktail Hour from 8pm to 9pm, followed by the official screening
of Remember I Am Dead from 9pm to 11pm, inclusive of a Talk Back with Director (Noel Alejandro)
and Cast (Brandon Jones). Afterwards, screening guests and After Party ticket holders are invited to
join us for La Nuit, our Lynchian themed soiree from 11 pm to 4 am. All events to take place at The
House.
