At a time when reproductive rights are increasingly under scrutiny across the United States, Families Out Loud is stepping forward as a leading voice advocating for ethical, inclusive, and accessible paths to parenthood.

With more than 2% of children in the U.S. now conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF) and hundreds of thousands of assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycles performed each year, the stakes have never been higher. LGBTQ+ parents, cancer survivors, and countless individuals facing infertility rely on these technologies to build their families. Yet despite growing demand, access remains uncertain and uneven.

Across the country, new legal and political challenges are reshaping the fertility landscape:

  • Emerging embryo personhood legislation threatens IVF protections
  • Surrogacy laws remain inconsistent and fragmented
  • Oversight gaps continue to raise ethical concerns
  • Access to care remains deeply inequitable

This moment represents more than a healthcare issue—it is a civil rights issue impacting the future of family building in America.

A National Platform for Education and Advocacy

Families Out Loud has established itself as the only national conference dedicated to educating and supporting individuals navigating ART. Through expert-led programming and a commitment to ethical providers, the organization empowers intended parents with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed decisions.

“Our mission is to educate intended parents so they can avoid the pitfalls so often seen in the headlines,” said co-founder Michael Snaric. “That starts with a trusted team behind them and real knowledge of the process.”

Through community events, advocacy, and access to vetted professionals, Families Out Loud continues to create safe, inclusive spaces where all paths to parenthood are recognized, supported, and celebrated.

“Night of Transformation” — Where Story Meets Impact

The organization’s flagship event, Night of Transformation, brings together thought leaders, advocates, and families to spotlight the evolving narrative of modern parenthood while raising funds to further the mission.

This year’s event will also launch a college fund for the young son of “The Broadway Husbands,” a family whose story has deeply resonated across communities.

Following the tragic passing of Bret from a rare cancer, his husband Stephen will take the stage to share their journey through assisted reproduction, the strength of chosen family, and the urgent need for protections that support all families built through ART.

“‘Night of Transformation’ is about bringing together the people shaping the future of family building,” Snaric added. “It’s about storytelling, visibility, and driving real change.”

Where It All Began

At the heart of Families Out Loud is a deeply personal story. Founders Mike and George were inspired to create FOL after navigating the IVF and surrogacy journey themselves—an experience that ultimately led to the birth of their twin boys.

That lived experience continues to shape the foundation of the organization today. It’s not just about advocacy—it’s about authenticity. By having gone through the process firsthand, Mike and George bring a level of understanding and trust that resonates deeply within the community, reinforcing FOL’s mission to support and empower others on similar paths.
