At the heart of EBG’s artistry lies their debut EP, YOU RUINED EVERYTHING, THANK YOU! — a cathartic, multi-genre journey that captures the highs and lows of love, loss, and healing.
“This EP feels like I’m closing a huge chapter of my life and stepping into a more fully realized version of myself,” EBG shares.
The title itself reflects the project’s themes of contradiction and growth: the phrase “you ruined everything” paired with “thank you!” turns pain into gratitude, offering a fresh perspective on trauma and transformation.
Spanning seven years of journaling, writing, and reflecting, the EP is both intimate and expansive, giving each listener space to interpret and discover their own truths within the music.
Track Highlights
- “Rain Cloud” – A raw, emotionally charged opener that sets the tone for the journey ahead.
- “Gaston” – The only track written exclusively for this project, this upbeat anthem confronts toxic masculinity while reclaiming power.
- “See You Soon” – Initially conceived as an interlude, it evolved into a full-bodied closer layered with hidden easter eggs, ending the EP on a bittersweet yet hopeful note.
Reflecting on the closing track, Ethan says: “‘See You Soon’ felt like the perfect way to end the project, because I’m so excited to work on new music and see my audience so soon.”
