If you’re not a fan of every inch of Tom Hardy, you’re doing it wrong. And hey, it’s totally fine to say that because the man has been full-frontal naked on camera a lot of times, by choice! (And sometimes not, to which we say: Consent is sexy.)
We’re willing to bet that if you’ve seen Tom Hardy naked, then you probably have a pretty decent (re: photographic) memory of it, but if you don’t then fret not! Cocktails and Cocktalk curated a naked Tom Hardy altar of sorts where you can, um, worship.
Hardy has played gay and straight characters throughout his career, and though he’s married to a woman, his sexuality has been a source of speculation in the media. (Though some outlets have identified Hardy as bisexual, he has not stated that himself.) In an interview with NOW magazine, when asked if he’d had sex with men, Hardy responded:
“Of course I have. I’m an actor for f*ck’s sake. I’ve played with everything and everyone. I love the form and the physicality, but now that I’m in my thirties, it doesn’t do it for me. I’m done experimenting but there’s plenty of stuff in a relationship with another man, especially gay men, that I need in my life. A lot of gay men get my thing for shoes. I have definite feminine qualities and a lot of gay men are incredibly masculine. A lot of people say I seem masculine, but I don’t feel it. I feel intrinsically feminine. I’d love to be one of the boys but I always felt a bit on the outside. Maybe my masculine qualities come from overcompensating because I’m not one of the boys.”
However, when his sexuality was touched upon at a Toronto Film Festival press conference, Hardy became defensive. The actor was asked by a reporter from Daily Xtra, “Is it hard for celebrities to talk to the media about their sexuality?” To which Hardy replied, “Are you asking me about my sexuality?”
In a later interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hardy said he found the question “humiliating,” and added, “I’m quite sensitive, and I feel like I’ve let people down for something that I actually didn’t ask for, for something that’s important to a lot of people. Should I come out of the closet when I’m not in one? I ought to maybe come out of the closet, even though that’s a lie, to do the right thing.”
Sexuality aside, we can all agree on one thing: He’s easy on the eyes! Hardy has gotten naked for films including Bronson, Sergeant Slaughter, My Big Brother, Colditz, Stuart, and the television series Taboo. Might be time to become a cinephile, no?
Hardy was also photographed fully naked while filming Taboo. The photos reveal a nude Hardy while braving the elements in a freezing cold lake in the buff (and we mean buff). Do what you will with this information, we won’t judge you.
