Prince Harry is a mainstay in the global consciousness. The royal bad boy is no stranger to bad PR, and maybe that’s part of the appeal. We’re getting to the bottom of the real issue, though: is he hot, or does he just have a bald brother?
The ginger prince and Duke of Sussex first emerged with a naughty public persona at age 16. He faced allegations of drinking and drug use while as a student, already putting points on the board seeing as every good hottie had a troubled childhood.
Then came an egregious un-hot moment. In 2005, apparently at the urging of his older brother and future sister-in-law, Harry wore a Nazi officer’s uniform complete with a swastika to a Natives and Colonials themed party. The royal couple in contrast went as a lion and liontamer.
This caused a massive stir, understandably, and Harry was forced to apologize. He turned 21 later that year during his military service. Military can sometimes boost a person’s sex appeal, but not when they hurl racial slurs at their subordinates. Again, points deducted.
Then came the Vegas photos. During a vacation in 2012, a year after his brother’s wedding, TMZ leaked photographs of the 27-year-old prince cupping his royal hog to protect his modesty.
Royal nudes are rare, so this bombshell tabloid moment became inflated in the public discourse. The latest controversy cemented his playboy persona, and showed off a pretty solid body. Points in the hottie category, however, these photos also tragically reveal something deeply British in the gene pool: flat ass. The prince has no butt, but that’s okay.
Fast forward a few years, and enter Megan Markle. The two began dating in 2016 much to the dismay of royal-obsessed women around the world. By then Harry was recognized as the hot prince (again, this cannot be taken as a final verdict considering the alternative is a weird little bald dude.) Something about Megan, and perhaps his own maturing, cleaned up Harry’s look a bit.
Two years later in 2018, the couple married in the second royal wedding of the decade. This is when things get hot. Not only did Harry make for a dashing groom, but it set off a series of events that are undeniably sexy.
In 2020, Harry and Megan announced they would “step back” as senior members of the royal family. While they did not explicitly cut ties, there’s clear tension between the royal family and Megan in part because of her race.
Anyone surprised by a British family holding some lingering racist attitudes should read literally any book. Add royalty to the mix, and the fact that they didn’t want to recognize Harry’s children as Prince or Princesses and held “uncomfortable” conversations about complexion of their future children explains the split.
Now a family man, Harry’s entered the realm of DILF. Bearded, buff, and with two kids he certainly has the charm of a hot dad. He explained in his interview with Oprah that his brother and father are still trapped by the rules of royalty, but he is now free(er) to live out his life in peace as a heartthrob.
Final Verdict: The combination of bad boy with a messy past, throwing a wrench into the Royal Family’s facade of perfection, and a pretty stellar body all add up to a pretty hot prince. Sure, go to Fire Island for a week and you’ll find much more attractive men, but Harry still takes the (apparent lack of) cake as the hottest male royal.
