For the unaired “Pop Culture” runway look on Drag Race France S4, Creatine Price looked to one of the defining fashion moments of the 21st century: Rihanna’s sheer, crystal-covered Adam Selman gown from the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards, where the superstar accepted the Fashion Icon Award.
Creatine was the first queen eliminated on the season but made her story as the first American-French queen cast to the franchise.

Q: What inspired you to recreate Rihanna’s 2014 CFDA look?
When I heard “Pop Culture,” I immediately thought about a moment that didn’t just dominate the conversation, but permanently changed it. Rihanna arriving at the CFDAs in that crystal-covered Adam Selman gown was fearless, glamorous and completely unapologetic. She wasn’t simply wearing an iconic look—she was showing us exactly why she deserved to be named a Fashion Icon.
Q: What does that moment represent to you?
Rihanna has always understood that fashion can be more than something beautiful. It can be an act of power, freedom and self-definition. That look celebrated the body without shame and challenged everyone else to catch up. As a performer, that confidence really speaks to me. Drag asks us to take ownership of how we’re seen, and Rihanna did exactly that on one of fashion’s biggest stages.
Q: How did you translate the original look through the lens of Creatine Price?
I wanted the reference to be immediately recognizable, but it still had to feel like me. The original is already so bold and theatrical that it translates naturally into drag, but recreating its impact required more than simply copying a dress. It was about capturing Rihanna’s confidence—the ease, the sensuality and that feeling that she knew the image would become part of fashion history.
Q: What was it like revisiting a runway that never made it to air?
Every runway package represents so much imagination, labor and collaboration, whether or not viewers ultimately see it on television. I’m thrilled that this look can now have its own moment through these photographs. It may be an unaired runway, but it’s no longer an unseen one.
Q: Who helped bring the look to life?
The outfit was created by Garo Sparo and Troy Allen, who helped translate such an iconic fashion reference into something made specifically for me. I created the fur stole, with help from Fake Fur Shop in finding exactly the right color. Jonas Visions photographed the finished look and gave it the full editorial moment it deserved.
