The era of hot, gay, AI influencers is here
On June 1st, 2024, Alex Silver, a 21-year-old construction worker, made a vulnerable confession on Instagram: he was coming out of the closet. Waving a rainbow flag on the beach and sporting scrunched-up shorts that highlighted his toned thighs and chiseled abs, Alex revealed his homosexuality to the world in full thirst-trap glory.
The post quickly garnered nearly 20,000 likes and over 500 comments. Many congratulated Alex on his new journey and admired his beauty. The only problem with the post’s authenticity? Alex doesn’t exist, at least not on Earth.
Behind the screen, influencer Art Bezrukavenko with millions of his own followers, cracked his fingers in satisfaction as his plan unfolded. The AI model had finally achieved a viral post, made it to the Explorer page, and built a following independent of his own.
Sitting down with So.Gay, Bezrukavenko assures us he has no plans to become the Kris Jenner of AI models anytime soon. Instead, his creation is a manifestation of himself and the physical attributes he wished he had and an experimentation of his skills as a content creator.
Could Bezrukavenko create a fantasy-based character with a genuine following lusting after him? The answer was yes, as long as the nudes don’t need to be visually consistent.
Back in March, the influencer says he made a real-life friend in Florida who he decided to help build a following.
“I helped him start from the ground up and shared everything I knew,” says Bezrukavenko. “I made a couple of videos with him, which gave him a boost. But no matter how much help you give, if they don’t listen and don’t follow your advice, the new people who just started out on social media will see it all fade away.”
Thankfully, his friend listened and watched his Instagram following grow to 88,000 in just four months. But Bezrukavenko had less pleasant encounters with others who didn’t take it seriously, leading him to realize that managing people wasn’t for him.
“Humans are very hard to control sometimes,” says Bezrukavenko. “And I really have zero patience to control other people’s lives. So I was like, ‘What can I do? I enjoy creating new characters…what if I create an AI model who will be like a real person?’”
Bezrukavenko gave Alex the muscular physique he wished he had. As a short king, he made his creation tall, channeling all the unrealistic beauty expectations gay men place on themselves and others.
But the AI model would also embody everything Bezrukavenko felt limited to with his own “morals” and online persona, such as fully stepping into selling his body on the internet and making erotic videos. Bezrukavenko might’ve had a boyfriend, but Alex was single and ready to mingle.
“I didn’t say that he’s going to be an AI right away,” says Bezrukavenko. “I was saying, ‘Guys, my brother is so hot.’ Some people thought that was controversial. But I’m going to warm them up, you know. And then, yeah, he’s actually my hot AI brother.”
Despite Bezrukavenko labeling Alex as AI and the photos holding visual cues that make it obvious upon closer inspection, many of the AI model’s followers prefer to live in denial—whether by choice or ignorance. After all, for some people, following and hitting on hot guys on Instagram is the app’s sole purpose. They don’t care if the person has a pulse.

Because So.Gay is here to ask the hard questions, we had to ask how hung Alex is?
According to Bezrukavenko, the answer is whatever you want it to be—that’s the beauty of fantasy. Truthfully, though, he hasn’t quite mastered keeping the dick consistent in every photo, so for now, it’s a Goldilocks-esque wiener.
Although the AI model works hard for the money, he only earns slightly under a couple of hundred dollars a month. Bezrukavenko hopes to continue working solely on him and see how much of an AI influencer he can turn him into.
Although the internet is filled with AI models, most profiles feature a diversity of them rather than treating them as a person, a unique individual with a past, present, and future.
“I just want to see where he’s going to be in one year,” says Bezrukavenko. “If he’s going to do well, I’ll keep doing him. If he doesn’t do well, I’ll just say he quit social media forever to focus on construction.”
