Your Celsius drink might actually be a High Noon

Thought you were just grabbing a pack of energy drinks? Plot twist: you might have accidentally bought vodka. If you recently picked up a High Noon Beach Variety 12-pack, it’s worth checking your cans—some were accidentally packaged as Celsius energy drinks. Yes, the ones that promise a caffeine kick could give you a buzz instead.

The recall affects select production lots of 12-pack Beach Variety cans. A few were mislabeled as Celsius’ Astro Vibe flavor, complete with a silver lid instead of the usual black. That means what looked like a harmless, non-alcoholic energy drink could actually sneak some vodka into your system. Imagine sipping your pre-workout drink and suddenly realizing it’s a cocktail.

High Noon says the mix-up happened because a packaging supplier that works with both brands accidentally shipped empty Celsius cans to High Noon’s production line. While no illnesses or injuries have been reported, the company is being extra cautious, warning anyone with affected lot codes not to drink the cans.

The affected 12-packs were distributed to retailers in Florida, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin. You can check lot codes on the exterior of the 12-pack or the bottom of individual cans. High Noon is offering refunds through its consumer relations team, so don’t just toss those cans—get your money back!

High Noon, launched in 2019, has quickly become one of the top-selling vodka seltzer brands in the U.S., selling over 21 million cases in 2023. Celsius, backed by PepsiCo, is a fan-favorite energy drink brand known for flavors like Fuji Apple Pear and Arctic Vibe.

This recall is a reminder to always check your beverages before cracking them open. Whether you’re stocking up for a weekend BBQ, a rooftop hangout, or a poolside day with friends, make sure your drink is actually what it says on the label. A vodka surprise can be fun—but maybe not when it’s unplanned.
