These stars are putting the B in LTBGQ+.
It’s fairly common knowledge that celebrities like Lady Gaga, Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie have had relationships across genders, each of them openly identifying as bisexual numerous times over their years in the spotlight.
Others, like Frank Ocean, Tessa Thompson and Dove Cameron, have refused to box themselves in, either preferring the more blanket term “queer” or eschewing labels altogether.
At a time when any and all celebrity representation is vital, So.Gay has pulled together a list of other celebrities who have been open about their bisexual identity, either in interviews or social media, as well as why they decided to speak out.
A few of these names might surprise you!
François Arnaud

Years before playing gay hockey heartthrob Scott Hunter on Heated Rivalry, actor François Arnaud came out as bisexual in a social media post on Bi Visibility Day 2020.
At the time, he wrote, “Yes, labels are frustrating and words, imperfect. But I’ve always considered myself bisexual. Not confused or trying to look edgy. Not disloyal. Not ashamed. Not invisible.” He’s since said he’s unsure whether coming out has affected his career, adding that he prioritizes living life as his authentic self.
Kit Connor

Heartstopper’s Kit Connor was pressured to come out as bisexual when he was 18— shortly after the show debuted on Netflix—after being accused of “queerbaiting.” At the time, he responded on Twitter—after briefly quitting the platform—by writing, “back for a minute. i’m bi. congrats for forcing an 18 year old to out himself. i think some of you missed the point of the show. Bye.”
Though he’s since called speculation over his sexuality “disappointing,” he said he has no regrets over coming out, telling British Vogue of the reveal, “In many ways it was really empowering.”
Ronen Rubinstein

Ronen Rubinstein was inspired to come out as bisexual in 2021 after starring on 9-1-1: Lone Star as Rob Lowe’s gay son, T.K. Strand. He explained the show’s fanbase and support of his character’s relationship with Rafael L. Silva’s Carlos made him feel “safe and comfortable” to talk about his sexuality.
“I fully identify as bisexual,” Rubinstein told Variety. “I literally just got goosebumps saying that. It feels so good to talk about it, it feels so good to finally be comfortable with it.”
Da Brat

Rapper Da Brat first came out as bisexual in 2020, revealing her relationship with Jesseca “Judy” Dupart.
“I’ve always felt like being private is the better way to go, because then you don’t have so many people in your business,” Brat told Variety at the time. “I was fine staying quiet, but my partner is a social media mogul — that’s how she became who she is. And when you get with somebody, you have to meet in the middle. So to me, the middle was just letting everybody know: ‘Hey, she’s the one.’”
She added that it was “absolutely” her decision to remain closeted for so long. Da Brat and Dupart married in 2022, and welcomed a son together in 2023.
Tyler Blackburn

Pretty Little Liars star Tyler Blackburn first came out in a 2019 interview with The Advocate. “I’m queer,” he shared, “I’ve identified as bisexual since I was a teenager.”
“Once I decided to date men, I was like, ‘Please just let me be gay and be okay with that, because it would be a lot fucking easier,'” he later told Playboy. “At times, bisexuality feels like a big gray zone.I’ve had to check myself and say, ‘I know how I felt when I was in love with women and when I slept with women. That was true and real. Don’t discredit that, because you’re feeding into what other people think about bisexuality.'”
Anna Paquin

True Blood star Anna Paquin came out as bisexual in 2010, the same year she married co-star Stephen Moyer. She made the reveal in a PSA for the Give a Damn campaign, which advocated for LGBTQIA+ rights.
She has consistently defended herself from “bi erasure,” saying on social media that she’s a “proud bisexual who is married to a wonderful human who happens to be a man.” She added, “If he doesn’t have a problem with it, why should anyone else?”
Billie Joe Armstrong

The Green Day frontman famously told the Advocate back in 1995, “I think I’ve always been bisexual…it’s something I’ve always been interested in. I think everybody kind of fantasizes about the same sex.”
In response to whether he’s actually bisexual or just an ally, he told PEOPLE in 2024, “there’s this other side of me that’s very conventional when it comes to my 30-year marriage to my wife. But I just look at sexuality: It’s not one way or the other. And if anybody ever tries to say that, I don’t think they’re really being honest with themselves.”
Stephanie Beatriz

Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz came out as bisexual on Twitter in 2016. She has since become an advocate for bisexual recognition, with her character on the Fox sitcom also coming out shortly after her own reveal.
She has also had to defend her marriage to a man, writing in a GQ essay, “I’m choosing to get married because this particular person brings out the best in me. This person happens to be a man. I’m still bi.”
Keiynan Lonsdale

A year before playing a queer teen in Love, Simon, star Keiynan Lonsdale opened up about his sexuality in a 2017 post to Instagram. At the time, he was starring on The CW’s The Flash.
“I like to change my hair, I like to take risks with how I dress, I like girls, & I like guys (yes),” he wrote at the time. “I’ve become bored of being insecure, ashamed, scared…no one should feel like that about themselves, especially when there is so much good life to live.”
In a 2018 Q&A, when asked if he was gay, he responded, “Now it just depends on the day, sometimes I’m bisexual, sometimes I’m gay, sometimes I feel straight, sometimes I’m not anything. It doesn’t matter.”
Lauren Jauregui

Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui revealed her sexuality in an open letter shared by Billboard to Donald Trump voters following the 2016 election. “I am a bisexual Cuban-American woman and I am so proud of it,” she wrote in the scathing piece.
She later told OUT that friends, family, and record executives warned her against coming out. In that same interview, she added, “Even the fact that I labeled myself makes me mad sometimes, because dude, I’m just a free spirit.”
Halsey

Singer Halsey has been open about her bisexuality ever since stepping in the public eye. While accepting a GLAAD Media Award in 2018, she said, “I’m a young, bisexual woman, and I’ve spent a large part of my life trying to validate myself — to my friends, to my family, to myself — trying to prove that who I love and how I feel is not a phase; it’s not part of some confusion that’s going to change or could be manipulated.”
For that reason, she added, “So I tried really hard to find the courage this year to write female pronouns into my music.” She and Jauregui collaborated on the bisexual anthem, “Strangers.”
She has defended her bisexuality online as well, amid high-profile relationships with male stars like G-Eazy and Avan Jogia.
Lili Reinhart

Riverdale star Lili Reinhart said she tried to come out “as nonchalantly as possible” when she took to her Instagram Story in 2020 to share, “Although I’ve never announced it publicly before, I’m a proud bisexual woman.”
Speaking with FLAUNT, she noted that she feared “that since I’ve exclusively been in hetero-normative relationships, it would be too easy for any outsider, especially the media, to vilify me and accuse me of faking it to get attention.”
Cardi B

Rapper Cardi B has long been open about her experiences with women and her bisexuality—and even appeared on the poorly-received bisexual song “Girls” with Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha and Charli XCX.
In 2022, after someone on X called her a celebrity who “came out as bisexual but never dated someone of the same gender,” Cardi was quick to clap back, writing, “I ate bitches out before you was born …..Sorry I don’t have razr phone pics to prove it to you 😅😅”
Anitta

Brazilian superstar Anitta first came out in her 2018 Netflix documentary, Vai Anitta, explaining she did so to fight taboos in her native country. Like many on this list, she’s been accused of faking her sexuality.
“Some people say I am ‘fake bi’ because I never dated a girl like a long-term relationship,” she told InStyle in 2023. “But come on, even my relationships with guys cannot last more than three months.”
Nico Tortorella

Younger star Nico Tortorella first came out as “sexually fluid” in 2016, before identifying as bisexual later that year. He has publicly dated both women and men, including internet personality Kyle Kreiger.
While he told Advocate in 2017 that he was “more of a pansexual,” he embraced the bisexual label to push back against bi erasure. “I can be emotionally, physically attracted to men. I can be emotionally, physically attracted to women,” he said at the time. “The ‘B’ in LGBTQ-plus has been fought for, for so long. I’m not going to be the person that’s like, ‘No, I need a ‘P,’ I need another letter!’ I stand by people that have paved this way for somebody like me.”
While both he and wife Bethany Meyers previously used they/them pronouns, the pair changed those terms in 2024 to he/him and she/her. The two have been married since 2018 and are expecting their third child together.
Alan Cumming

The Traitors host Alan Cumming first came out as bisexual on the cover of OUT Magazine back in 1998. At that time, he had already been married to and divorced from ex-wife Hilary Lyon. He married artist Grant Shaffer in 2007.
Speaking with Buzzfeed in 2025, he was asked whether he was tired of having his sexuality mislabeled.
“I let that one go,” he said at the time. “I mean I try to, when I have a chance to, define myself as bisexual. But if people say gay — I like queer, actually, because it’s more all-encompassing, and it doesn’t necessarily have to do with what you do with the contents of your underpants. It’s more of a sort of sensibility as well. I quite like that.”
Shane Dawson

YouTube star Shane Dawson came out in an emotional, 15-minute video shared to his channel in 2015.
“There are a lot of coming out videos of people who are gay or lesbian and they’re so confident,” he said after revealing his bisexuality. “But it made me cry because I’m not that, I don’t know who I am 100%. And I know that a lot of you guys might feel the same way.”
He later married fellow YouTuber Ryland Adams; the pair welcomed twins via surrogate in 2023.
Jack Dylan Grazer

It and Luca star Jack Dylan Grazer came out at the age of 17 in 2021.

He also changed his pronouns to he/they at the time.
Auli’i Cravalho

Moana voice star Auli’i Cravalho came out in 2020 by mouthing the words to Eminem’s “Those Kinda Nights” on TikTok after being asked “Do u like girls” on Twitter. The video included the lyrics, “Seriously though, jokes aside, how you doin’? You straight?’/ She said, ‘No, I’m bi.’”
“The funniest part to me was that I had girlfriends in high school,” she later told EW of the media headlines that followed. “I think girls are great, but I wouldn’t think that it was necessary to come out.”
As her followers reacted with positivity at the time, she added, “The fans are only too happy to accept another gay.”
Mike White

MIke White, the man behind White Lotus and Survivor castaway, has described himself as both bisexual and gay throughout his time in the spotlight. The creator is the son of James White, a right wing pastor who came out as gay late in life and later became a LGBTQ+ advocate.
White’s work, especially White Lotus, has featured many queer characters—or, as Them describes it, “chaotic homosexuals.”
The filmmaker revealed in December 2024 that he split from his longtime boyfriend, Josh Brooks, whom he had been dating since at least 2012. He blamed his busy HBO filming schedule for the breakup.
Shannon Purser

Barb from Stranger Things, also known as actress Shannon Purser, came out in a 2017 post to Twitter.
“I’ve only just recently come out as bisexual to my family and friends,” she wrote at the time. “It’s something I am still processing and trying to understand and I don’t like talking about it too much.”
She later told PEOPLE that she came out to make others “fess alone and more understood.”

She added, “I used to say that it felt like I was looking at my own community from inside a glass box. There you all were — vibrant, and beautiful and falling in love and I had my nose pressed up against the glass looking out at all of you separate and apart. It took time for me to outgrow my box.”
Willow Smith

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s daughter Willow Smith opened up about her sexuality on an episode of Red Table Talk in 2019.
“I love men and women equally and so I would definitely want one man, one woman,” she shared, while also opening up about being polyamorous. “I feel like I could be polyfidelitous with those two people.”
“As long as you are learning to have the greatest love affair with Willow, I’m okay with whatever you do,” Jada told her daughter.

She also declared, “I fall under the B category” in a red carpet interview.
Shortly after her reveal, Rodriguez added, “Maybe by me opening my big fat mouth like I usually do and stepping up and owning who I am, maybe it might inspire somebody else to do the same.”
Jason Mraz

Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz came out in a 2018 interview with Billboard, crediting his ex-wife with helping him understand his sexuality.

Maren Morris

Country singer Maren Morris came out as bisexual during Pride month 2024, saying she was “happy to be the B in LGBTQ+ … happy pride.”
She later told PEOPLE, “There’s so many things I have said that could be polarizing, and this just felt like if it connects with somebody or feels like they feel a little bit braver, knowing artists that they admire or love is too, that’s obviously an amazing byproduct of being honest with yourself. But also, I don’t know if that many people were surprised.”
Lily Singh

YouTube star and TV host Lily Singh first came out as bi in a 2019 social media post.
“✅ Female ✅ Coloured ✅ Bisexual ••• Throughout my life these have proven to be obstacles from time to time,” she captioned an Instagram selfie. “But now I’m fully embracing them as my superpowers. No matter how many “boxes” you check, I encourage you to do the same.”

Madison Beer

Singer Madison Beer has been open about her bisexuality in a number of interviews.
In a 2025 interview with Cosmopolitan, she opened up about why she doesn’t understand why anyone cares. “I’m just like, ‘Yeah, I don’t really know why you give a fuck that I want to date a girl.’ I’ve never understood homophobic people, because I’m just like, ‘Why are you affected by someone else’s sexual preference?’”
She added, “I like to speak about it because I know how much the gay community has been through. My grandfather married a woman and had three children with her because he was trying to convert himself. It makes me so upset that we live in this world where you can’t just be who you are.”
Vanessa Carlton

“A Thousand Miles” singer Vanessa Carlton came out while performing at Nashville Pride back in 2010. At the time, she called herself a “proud bisexual.”
She later told Huffington Post she came out after spotting two female teens in the audience, explaining that she “felt their pain in a way.” Calton added, “I wanted to connect with them. “Now that I know that this book is coming out, and that I’ve chosen to share it with the world, I’m comfortable to confidently say that yes, I am bisexual. I said it! This is the first time I got to say it out loud,” she told the outlet.
“That’s something about me I was never able to share with the world, because it was just never the right time. It was either I was too young, and I was being forced to be perfect at all times,” she added. “Then came the period where it felt like people coming out, especially women, saying that they were bisexual or liked girls, was a fad. I was afraid that if I was honest, it was going to be like me jumping on the bandwagon.”
Hannah Einbinder

Hacks star Hannah Einbinder has always been a proud bisexual comedian, while also playing one on TV.
“I was lucky to start on a show where my character is queer and I’m working with artists and women and people who are embracing that,” she shared of her journey, calling herself “really lucky.”

Aubrey Anderson-Emmons

Modern Family star Aubrey Anderson-Emmons—who played young Lily on the sitcom—came out as bisexual in 2025, using a clip from the show to help her out.
Mouthing the words to a scene in which Lily exclaims, “I’m gay, I’m gay!”, she captioned the post, “people keep joking so much abt [sic] me being gay when I literally am (I’m bi).” She later told Them that she didn’t expect the news headlines to follow, adding, “I’m very much an open book about who I am. So, it was just one of those things that I forgot to mention to the public.”
Fergie

It hasn’t been an easy road lately, but I feel there are no mistakes in my life,” she said at the time. “Everything happens for a reason. To have the opportunity to speak for myself and to have people understand what I’m going through is really special. I myself was confused and scared at first. Being able to speak from my heart and get this all out, it’s a huge relief for me.”
She later married Kroy Biermann.

Though most of her high-profile relationships have been with men, Wood told Self in 2019,
“A lot of people are like, ‘Why do you not have any public relationships with women?’ I’m like, I have not hidden any of my relationships with women. We’ve been photographed together. We’d been out and about. We held hands. Everyone just always assumed we were friends.”
She also told the publication that, for her, being bisexual also includes dating trans and nonbinary people—adding, “When I identify as bi, to me that means everyone.”
