SAMMY Is The Ultimate Uniform For Men This Summer

Rising star designer Clark Samuel, the visionary behind SAMMY, is redefining the way queer men show up in their bodies. His approach is simple but powerful: confidence is tailored, sensuality is effortless, and feeling seen is non-negotiable. Whether you are poolside in Miami or catching eyes at golden hour in Mykonos, SAMMY isn’t just something you wear, it’s something you step into. We sat down with him to discuss his spring/summer collection.

So.Gay: When a gay man slips into SAMMY, what’s the feeling you hope he experiences?

Clark Samuel: All of it: confidence, playfulness, even a little mischief. But underneath everything, I want him to feel seen. Menswear has spent decades hiding the male body, especially gay men’s bodies. SAMMY does the opposite; it frames you. It acknowledges the body instead of pretending it’s not there.

The first time something fits exactly how it’s supposed to, something shifts. You stop settling. You stop second-guessing. It’s just, “yeah… that’s the one.” Confidence comes first. Playfulness follows. Mischief? That’s the cherry on top.

So.Gay: What are the hottest pieces this season? What’s stealing the scene?

Clark Samuel: The Brazilian Swim Brief is still that piece. Low rise, seamless, with an ultra-thin waistband. It lifts and frames in a way that feels unbeatable. It’s sexy without trying too hard.

We’ve expanded it to thirteen colors this season. Mango and Hypnotiq are for when you want to be seen. Sage and Mahogany are more of an acquired taste, but clearly people are catching on because we sold out.

On top, the Body Contour ribbed tees are about to take over. The fabric follows your body without fighting it. It just sits exactly where it should. Pair it with our 3” Leisure Short and you’re effortlessly turning heads.

And then… the Red Flame Sheer G-string. It’s bold, it’s unapologetic, and it’s exactly what it sounds like.

So.Gay: Where should one wear SAMMY to really make an impact?

Clark Samuel: Miami will always be home. The energy here: heat, pool culture, people fully in their bodies—that’s what built SAMMY.

But the collection travels. Rooftops in New York. Late dinners in Mexico City that turn into something more. Tulum, Mykonos, places where people are open, a little less guarded.

The perfect moment is golden hour at the pool party when the music is hitting just right. You lock eyes with someone across the deck, and there’s this unspoken connection. That’s the feeling SAMMY is built for.

So.Gay: Who is the SAMMY man?

Clark Samuel: He’s sensitive. Observant. He understands how what you wear can shift your mindset, your confidence, your presence.

So much menswear teaches men to shrink themselves; to play it safe. The SAMMY guy pushes against that. He’s secure in who he is, whether that leans masculine, feminine, or anywhere in between.

It’s not about showing off. It’s about not holding back. Wanting to feel good in your body isn’t about sexuality. It’s human. SAMMY just removes the hesitation.

So.Gay: If SAMMY had a personality, who would he be?

Clark Samuel: A quiet social butterfly. Magnetic, a little mysterious. He doesn’t need to say much. His presence does the work.

He’s bold, but soft about it. Flirtatious, but never trying too hard. That kind of confidence isn’t loud; it’s intimate. He’s not stepping outside his comfort zone. He’s stepping into it.
