Denevin Miranda’s New Menu At Jean’s Is The Only Reservation That Matters

There’s a new energy coming out of Jeans—and it starts in the kitchen. With Denevin Miranda stepping in as the restaurant’s new chef, the menu has been refreshed, and naturally, So.Gay had to stop by and experience it for ourselves from the chef we called The Hottest Chef in NYC in 2024.

From the moment dishes started hitting the table, we were absolutely blown away. Every course felt thoughtful, elevated, and genuinely delicious.

Let’s start with something So.Gay will never skip: the bread basket. We’re self-proclaimed suckers for good bread and this basket was warm, perfectly baked, and beautifully served—it set the tone immediately.

For mid courses, the baby gem salad was fresh, crisp, and unexpectedly exciting, while the Hamachi ceviche is an absolute must-try for seafood lovers. Bright, balanced, and packed with flavor, it’s one of those dishes that defines a great menu.

Moving into mains, the Steak au Poivre was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, flavorful, and exactly the temperature we wanted. Alongside it, the spaghetti pomodoro was executed flawlessly.

And of course, dessert sealed the deal. The famous big chocolate chip cookie paired with Brother’s Bond bourbon milk was indulgent in all the right ways, but the real star? The carrot cake. Without exaggeration, it was the best carrot cake we’ve ever had the privilege of putting in our mouths.

As Gibson Johns, wrote for So.Gay in 2024:  “[Jeans is] the kind of restaurant that attracts a mixed crowd (complimentary): In-the-know scenesters who probably know the hip owners, Fashion Week regulars who aren’t really there for the food, Gen-Z’ers who are there because they saw it on TikTok and genuine foodies.”

Count So.Gay in as regular guests for this new era.
