The season will once again be anchored by two of the most iconic Pride events in the world: the NYC Pride March and PrideFest, both taking place on Sunday, June 28, 2026. These events will be joined by a wide variety of free and ticketed experiences designed to celebrate queer joy while continuing the fight for equality.

“This past year, we have learned that Pride events are not to be taken for granted—even in a safe haven like New York City,” said NYC Pride Executive Director Im Lynde. “In 2026, we are intentionally curating events that not only bring our community together in joy and celebration, but also in the fight for equality—for all of us.”

The NYC Pride March Returns

The NYC Pride March, which began as a demonstration honoring the 1969 Stonewall Riots, remains one of the largest and longest-running LGBTQIA+ demonstrations in the world. The march will kick off at 12:00 p.m. on June 28, starting at 26th Street and Fifth Avenue and dispersing at 15th Street and Seventh Avenue.

Each year, millions of spectators gather to watch as thousands of participants—including activists, community groups, and allies—march in solidarity. The event has grown into a powerful symbol of LGBTQIA+ resilience, unity, and activism on the global stage.

For those unable to attend in person, the march will once again be broadcast live on WABC-7 and ABC.com, featuring performances, interviews with queer trailblazers, and coverage of the parade’s vibrant floats and contingents.

PrideFest Brings Community Together

Also taking place on June 28, PrideFest will transform Fourth Avenue from 14th Street to Astor Place into the largest LGBTQIA+ street festival in the United States.

The all-day event brings together queer creators, small businesses, nonprofits, and artists from around the world. Attendees can explore multiple themed areas throughout the festival, including:

  • BookFest, spotlighting queer writers and stories
  • CommunityFest, connecting visitors with nonprofits and small businesses
  • FamilyFest, offering activities for families and youth
  • FoodFest, featuring local bites and flavors
  • StageFest, showcasing performances by top artists
  • WellnessFest, providing queer-affirming support resources

Together, the festival celebrates the diversity and creativity of the LGBTQIA+ community while supporting organizations that serve it.

Youth Pride Celebrates the Next Generation

On Saturday, June 27, NYC Pride will host Youth Pride at South Street Seaport’s Pier 16, a block-party-style event designed specifically for LGBTQIA+ youth, their families, and allies.

The free celebration includes carnival-style games, live performances, free food and snacks, and opportunities for young attendees to connect with local trans- and gender-affirming resource providers.

The event will begin with a rally led by community partners and activists calling for stronger protections for trans youth. Entry is free with an RSVP.

Events Leading Up to Pride Month

NYC Pride will also host several ticketed events leading up to June.

The “Road to Pride” Bar Crawl Series will take place on March 28, May 9, and June 6, bringing participants through LGBTQ+ nightlife hotspots across the city. Each crawl will feature a different theme—from Y2K nostalgia in Hell’s Kitchen to disco in Williamsburg and Pride anthems in the West Village.

Proceeds from ticket sales and drink purchases help fund NYC Pride programming throughout the year.

Another highlight is “It’s Giving Brunch,” NYC Pride’s signature drag brunch fundraiser. Taking place on June 20 at Stella 34 Trattoria in Macy’s Herald Square, the event will feature performances by top NYC drag talent alongside raffles and a silent auction benefiting NYC Pride’s mission.

A VIP Pride Experience

For those looking for a premium way to experience the Pride March, NYC Pride is also offering the Grandstand Experience. Located at the General William Jenkins Worth Monument, the ticketed viewing area includes stadium-style seating, private restrooms, complimentary food and drinks, and exclusive live entertainment.

This year also introduces a front-row audience pit, giving guests an up-close vantage point of the WABC-7 broadcast and Pride festivities.

Continuing Pride’s Legacy

NYC Pride events attract more than 2.5 million spectators each year, with over 75,000 people marching in the parade. Organized by the volunteer-run nonprofit Heritage of Pride, the celebrations aim to inspire, educate, commemorate, and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community year-round.

As Pride 2026 approaches, NYC once again prepares to welcome the world to celebrate queer identity, resilience, and the ongoing fight for equality.
